- The Frenchman is a top target for Los Blancos and could make a switch this transfer window
- Paris Saint-Germain are keen to offload Mbappe after he opted not to extend his contract
Real Madrid do not want to upset the happiness of their squad in their bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward, Kylian Mbappe, this summer after his decision not to renew his contract with the Parisians.
The 24-year-old French star, whose current contract expires in 2024, could join Los Blancos this summer. PSG are reportedly keen to offload their superstar so as not to lose him for free next summer.
According to Sportskeeda, Madrid have refused to meet the two demands from Mbappe to join the Spanish club this summer as they also want to keep Vinicius Junior happy.
The 2022 World Cup Golden Boot winner reportedly wants to play as a winger and not in a central role, although the Brazilian star currently occupies that position on the field.
Mbappe has also expressed a desire to wear the renowned No. 7 shirt at the Spanish club, although Vinicius Jr. recently acquired the number and will maintain it for the foreseeable future.
Mbappe’s Madrid move faces roadblock
Meanwhile, the much-discussed potential transfer of Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid faces a significant hurdle due to his loyalty bonus, PSG Talk reports.
The Frenchman's loyalty bonus is apparently worth €70 million (before tax) - therefore, the PSG wantaway does not want to lose that money after he demanded he be paid upfront.
Real Madrid’s pursuit of Mbappe aligns with an ambition to bolster attacking options and reinforce their squad with marquee signings, but they will not be coerced into paying the loyalty bonus.
