Mason Mount was pictured arriving for his medical tests on Monday morning ahead of his move to Manchester United.
News broke out last week that Chelsea and United had agreed a fee of around 60 million euros for the sale of the English midfielder.
The Chelsea graduate is expected to sign a five-year deal at Old Trafford with the option of extending it by a further year, as reported by Sky Sports, pending the passing of the medical tests.
Multiple Manchester United outlets report that he was chauffeured into United's training base at Carrington with transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano indicating that the transfer would be made official later this week.
Sports Brief had earlier reported that Mount will be out of contract next summer, and an agreement could not be found between him and his boyhood club, with the length of the contract and salary being the difference between the two.
Mount imitates Ronaldo's technique
Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best free-kick takers of all time and has scored some iconic ones. He has a distinct technique of standing elegantly over the ball before hitting.
Ronaldo is arguably football’s biggest influencer with his lifestyle, fashion, and goal celebration, a global phenomenon copied by colleagues and football lovers worldwide.
Mount is also a Ronaldo fanboy and spoke about how he modelled his freekick technique after the Portuguese, from his days at Cobham Academy.
Mount in Utd's line-up
Sports Brief also reported that Mount brings something different to United, and coach Erik ten Hag will need to find the best set-up in the new season.
Spurs sign Italian goalkeeper Vicario
FootballCasemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Christian Eriksen have been mainstays in the United line-up, but that combination has been disrupted by injuries and suspensions. Starting these three had some success during the season but they were also badly exposed many times.
Eriksen will likely be the casualty to make way for Mount, and the former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder will have to make do with a place on the bench.
