Arsenal's new summer signing, Kai Havertz, has reportedly become the club's biggest earner after he swapped Chelsea for the north Londoners.
Havertz became Arsenal's first major signing last Wednesday, with the Mikel Arteta-tutored side splashing about £65million.
The German's move to the Emirates Stadium came after days of speculation, with the switching ending his three-year association with the Blues.
According to Sportbible, the 24-year-old joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen for £71million in the summer of 2020.
The forward went on to net just 19 goals in 91 Premier League appearances for the Stamford Bridge dwellers.
Kai Havertz becomes Arsenal's top earner
Apparently, Havert'z move to the Emirates Stadium will cost Arsenal an arm and a leg, with the club set to spend significantly more on wages.
The Mirror reports that Havertz has immediately become the Gunners' highest-paid squad member.
Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey is believed to have been the north London club's top earner but has now been eclipsed by Havertz.
According to Bild, the former Bayer Leverkusen ace will make pocket an eyewatering £17m a year, which is equivalent to £331,000 per week.
On his part, Partey, who signed for Arsenal in 2020 from Atletico Madrid, has been on £198,000 per week wages.
