FootballHakim Ziyech’s Saudi Arabia Move in Jeopardy After Reportedly Failing Medical
- Hakim Ziyech could suffer a second transfer heartbreak in six months with his Saudi move in jeopardy
- Multiple reports claim the move has stalled after a knee problem was detected during his medical
- He had a move to Paris Saint-Germain fall through in January after Chelsea failed to send the paperwork
Hakim Ziyech could yet again see a transfer fail to materialise, with reports surfacing that he has failed his medical ahead of a move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
Ziyech is set to leave Chelsea after three years in which he was grossly underwhelming and failed to hit the heights he was on at Ajax before the Blues paid £34m to buy him in the summer of 2020.
He was in and out of the team with injuries and inconsistencies; despite having about four managers in his three years at Stamford Bridge, he was never anyone’s favourite.
According to ESPN, he could have left London in January, but his move to Paris Saint-Germain collapsed after Chelsea sent the wrong document thrice on deadline day.
Ziyech’s Saudi move in jeopardy
According to Mirror UK, the Moroccan could be left looking for other options after it was reported that he failed his Al-Nassr medical after a knee problem was detected.
There are indications the move, from which Chelsea are set to pocket £17m, half of what they paid for the 29-year-old three years ago, could now be off.
He will have to explore other options as he has been deemed surplus to requirements in London, and new boss, Mauricio Pochettino has different ideas about the right wing.
The 2021 Champions League winner has had Saudi Arabia as a path to use to sell some of Chelsea's wantaway stars, having sent N’golo Kante, Edouard Mendy, and Kalidou Koulibaly to the Gulf state.

FootballZiyech posts cryptic message
Sports Brief reported that Ziyech posted a cryptic message on Instagram after having dinner with three club teammates, two of whom are set to leave the club.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is set to leave Chelsea, while Denis Zakaria has left at the expiration of his loan. Wesley Fofana, who joined for £70m last summer, is the only one set to remain.
The former Ajax star uploaded a photo of the four having dinner in London and captioned it ‘too much turbulence’ after an underwhelming season.
