FootballMason Mount: Fans Divided After Learning Manchester United Have Agreed £60m Deal for Midfielder
- Fans are divided after learning that Manchester United have agreed a £60m deal for Mason Mount
- Sections of fans believe Manchester United have overpaid for the services of the midfielder
- The Red Devils have finally come to an agreement with Chelsea to sign the talented England star
Manchester United will reportedly pay Chelsea £60m for Mason Mount, despite the midfielder only having one year remaining on his contract.
Fans have taken to social media with varying reactions after United reportedly agreed with Chelsea to transfer Mount.
After a long saga involving Mount, it appears United and Chelsea have finally found some common ground, with football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano indicating a fee in the region of £60m was agreed upon.
Earlier in the week, Chelsea had rejected a £55m offer from United, who were growing increasingly frustrated at how negotiations were going, but never gave up their pursuit.
Erik ten Hag was keen on making Mount his first summer signing, and it appears he will finally have his man, as a medical is scheduled before the coming week.
Is Mount’s fee too high?
While there is no denying Mount is a brilliant acquisition for Manchester United, rival fans felt the club should have paid far less for his services.
Part of the reason for this is that Mount made it clear he wanted to leave Stamford Bridge, and his contract with the Blues was running out fast.
