Leicester City midfielder, James Maddison, has appeared to have deleted a series of tweets he previously made criticising Tottenham Hotspur.
Maddison has widely been linked with a possible summer move to the north London club following Leicester's relegation from the Premier League.
According to the Evening Standard, Tottenham are ready to step up their attempts to sign the English international in the coming weeks.
Spurs are believed to have moved ahead of Newcastle in the race for the midfielder and are expected to accelerate discussions over the midfielder's signature.
The Foxes are reportedly holding out for £60 million for Maddison, with Spurs hopeful to negotiate a lower fee.
Maddison deletes old Tottenham tweets
The Mirror reports that views made by Maddison, in which he criticised Spurs, have since resurfaced in the wake of his proposed move to the north London outfit.
The publication adds that the 26-year-old has moved with speed to delete the tweets which had him expressing previous disdain for his possible new club.
One of the tweets from the past also had Maddison taking aim at Tottenham's biggest star at the time, Gareth Bale.
"I hate Gareth Bale with a passion, calm down you monkey, [Jack] Wilshere is 10x better than you chimpanzee," he wrote.
The midfielder will be hoping to compensate for his apparent previous hatred for Spurs with good performances, should he seal the move.
