FootballArthur Zwane Reportedly Gives Kaizer Chiefs Blessing to Appoint New Manager
- Arthur Zwane's future at Kaizer Chiefs was a big talking point as the fans wanted him to be replaced
- Mohamed Nasreddine Nabi was in talks over the managerial post, but negotiations with him hit a snag
- Zwane is seen as an integral member of the squad and the Amakhosi do not want to part ways just yet
Arthur Zwane is open to working with Mohamed Nasreddine Nabi at Kaizer Chiefs.
10111 was in charge of the Amakhosi last season, but the side finished in fifth in the DStv Premiership and lost a record 12 games.
With fans wanting the manager gone, Chiefs were then rumoured to be in talks with the former Young Africans coach.
As noted by Far Post, Zwane could be the reason why Nabi signs for the Amakhosi. The publication spoke to a source who confirmed the manager wanted what was best for the club.
Chiefs would also require a local coach to assist Nabi with the players and country, and Zwane could play that role.
“Arthur believes the project is bigger than him; it’s about the club for him. He’s openly told management that he’s open to working with anyone they bring,” the source said.
As a club legend, the Amakhosi don’t want to part ways with Zwane and still see him as an integral part of the side. Despite his blessing to bring in another coach, Chiefs have yet to agree on a deal with Nabi.
As noted by The Citizen, the deal between the two parties seems to have hit a snag. The PSL giants are reportedly unhappy the manager has been talking to the media regarding the club’s interests.
Amakhosi management wanted to keep negotiations private and are therefore upset with the Tunisian coach for divulging details to the media.
