The Black Meteors of Ghana were blown apart by Morocco in their second group game at the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations in a 5-1 defeat on Tuesday night.
Morocco wasted no time in establishing their intentions after Michael Richardson scored just seven minutes into the game, before Ismael Saibiri doubled the lead six minutes later.
The Atlas Lions extended their lead following a brilliant team play which resulted in Yanis Begraoui adding the third after the 30th-minute mark.
Ghana were handed a lifeline after Salim Adams scored with two minutes remaining to half-time.
A minute later the Black Meteors had a goal ruled out after Fatawu Issahaku's low drive was rescinded following a VAR check.
After the break, Barcelona star, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli added Morocco's fourth following a poor clearance by Terry Yegbe, before Begraoui added his second of the game and the final nail in Ghana's coffin.
Morocco had a late goal ruled out for offside.
The Black Meteors will next face Guinea for a place in the semi-final of the competition.
Issahku: Trademark shot against Congo
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Black Meteors midfielder, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, has been trending since Ghana's AFCON U-23 opener against Congo on Sunday, after producing one of his trademark strikes.
The Sporting Lisbon player almost scored from his own half after spotting the Congo goalkeeper off his line, only to be denied by the crossbar.
Issahaku played a key role as the Black Meteors secured an opening day victory at the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations currently ongoing in Morocco.

Ghana's U23 team, the Black Meteors are off to a winning start at the Africa U23 Cup of Nations after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Congo.
Having led the game 3-0 till the 90th minute, Ghana were handed a late scare as the Congolese side scored twice in a minute to pull two goals back.
Following a barren first half, the Black Meteors raced into the lead just five minutes after the break following a brilliant play from the team, which saw Fatawu Issahaku squeeze a pass to second-half substitute Emmanuel Yeboah, who laid the ball to Ernest Nuamah for the opener.
