Orlando Pirates have already dipped into the transfer market to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
The Buccaneers won the Nedbank Cup and MTN8 last season, but want to add league honours to that list.
Jose Riviero’s side finished second behind Mamelodi Sundowns in the DStv Premiership last season, but were still 16 points behind Masandawana.
With Pirates looking to catch the Brazilians, they have unveiled four new players, including two Bafana Bafana internationals.
Sports Brief takes a closer look at Pirates’ new acquisitions.
Melusi Buthelezi
A talented goalkeeper who performed wonders for TS Galaxy, Buthlezi will bolster Pirates' backline and provide competition for Richard Ofori.
As noted by Far Post, Buthelezi said goodbye to Galaxy a month ago, as it was rumoured back then that he would become a Sea Robber.
Buthelezi was plagued by injuries recently but still managed to feature 21 times for Galaxy last season, where he kept 15 clean sheets.
Katlego Otladisa
A former Mamelodi Sundowns junior player, Otladisa is an exciting winger who will add attacking depth to the Pirates squad.
With Marumo Gallants getting relegated last season, Otladisa is looking to continue playing in the top flight and will get that chance with the Buccaneers.
As noted by News24, it’s reported that Otladisa has signed a long-term deal with the side.
Sephelo Baloni
Described as one of the most influential midfielders in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Baloni will now be plying his trade in the DStv Premiership.
A former All-Stars player, Baloni made 25 appearances for Umlilo and scored three goals last season, iDiski Times reported.
