Super Falcons captain Onome Ebi has disclosed the major secret that keeps her to stay in shape at the age of 40 ahead of Nigeria's campaign in the 2023 Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Ebi has recorded her name in the history books of Nigerian football as she has been playing active soccer for more than 20 years and this year's World Cup will be her sixth appearance.

Despite serious attacks by fans on social media that the former Bayelsa Queens' captain should retire from international football, Ebi is not worried as she wants to continue playing.

While speaking exclusively with Brila, the Omidiran Babes' product made it known that she trains three hours every day and stays indoors.

Onome reveals her football secret

''I feel better especially when you are 40 and still playing active football which is not common in the world as a woman.
''I think there are just three or four players in the world who are still playing actively at 40 and I am grateful to God.
''I don't joke with my training which is three hours per day and I sleep a lot because I am not the outgoing type. My best meal is Spaghetti because it makes me feel lighter.''

Ebi gears up for World Cup

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how ahead of the forthcoming 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Nigerian defender, Onome Ebi has promised a good outing for the Super Falcons.

The 40-year-old is set to participate in her sixth Women’s World Cup event, to be hosted by Australia and New Zealand starting from July 20.

The four-time Africa Women's Cup of Nations winner shared the secrets to maintaining her longevity with FIFA and expressed her ambitions for the upcoming tournament.

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have appeared at the Mundial nine times, and Ebi has played in five of them.
