Erling Haaland made his father join an illustrious list when he signed for Manchester City last summer for £51m from Borussia Dortmund.
Haaland was born in Leeds when his father was playing at Elland Road. He was eligible to play for England, but opted to play international football for Norway.
Sports Brief looks at six fathers and sons who have played in the English first division, as first analysed by Premier League.
1. Alfie and Erling Haaland
Alfie spent 10 years in England before returning to Norway with Bryne in 2003 after leaving Leeds United. Erling joined City last summer and won the treble in his first season, picking up the golden boot and other individual awards.
2. Paul and Tom Ince
Paul Ince spent most of his career in the Premier League, winning two league titles at Manchester United. His son, Tom, also played for Liverpool and Crystal Palace.
3. Peter and Kasper Schmeichel
Both father and son are Premier League legends. Peter won five league titles with Manchester United and also played one season for rivals City. Kasper won a fairytale title with Leicester City in the 2015/16 season.
4. Ian and Shaun Wright
Ian is an Arsenal legend, and his adopted son Shaun Wright-Philips won the league title with Chelsea, making them the second father and son duo to win a league title along with the Schmeichels, as reported by Goal.
5. Steve and Alex Bruce
Steve Bruce was one of the best and tough-tackling defenders of the 90s; he won three titles at Manchester United. His son, Alex, also played in the English league and earned an FA Cup runners-up medal under his father at Wolves.

Gus Poyet spent his time in England with London clubs Chelsea and Tottenham and enjoyed a stellar late 90s with the Blues. His son, Diego, had an uneventful career but played three league games for West Ham.
