  • Mikel Arteta is said to have held talks with PSG about the possibility of succeeding Christophe Galtier, who was sacked earlier in the month

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has addressed rumours of dumping the Gunners amid Paris Saint-Germain links.

The Spaniard has enjoyed a successful stint with the north Londoners since his appointment in 2019.

Arteta was appointed to the role after the sacking of Unai Emery, who had succeeded legendary boss Arsene Wenger.

The former midfielder led Arsenal to a second-place finish in the Premier League last season, missing out on the crown by a whisker after they had dominated the league for months.

According to Metro UK, Arteta guided the Emirates dwellers to FA Cup triumph in his first season in charge and also helped them lift the Community Shield.

While it is unlikely the ex-Everton star will dump Arsenal any time soon, that has not stopped the rumour mills from linking him with the PSG role.

Former Barcelona and Spain head coach Luis Enrique is believed to be closing in on a move to the French capital to replace Christophe Galtier, who was sacked earlier in the month.

Be that as it may, reports have claimed that PSG held talks with Arteta about the possibility of a move.

However, the ex-Arsenal skipper has come out to make it clear he is happy at the Emirates Stadium.

"I can only say that I am happy at Arsenal. I feel loved, valued by our owners, Stan and Josh [Kroenke], and I have a lot to do here at this club," he told Marca.
"I am happy and tremendously grateful to be at Arsenal," he added.

Nketiah ready to quit Arsenal

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Arsenal youngster Eddie Nketiah is reportedly reconsidering his future at the club ahead of the imminent arrival of Kai Havertz.

Havertz is believed to be on the verge of sealing a sensational summer move to the Emirates Stadium.

However, it seems Havertz's potential arrival at Arsenal could greatly impact the squad, with reports claiming Nketiah could depart if the Chelsea star seals the transfer.
