Although he was born in France, Koulibaly decided to represent Senegal at the senior level, helping the country win their first-ever Africa Cup of Nations title in 2022.

The defender starred as Senegal defeated Brazil on Wednesday in an international friendly in Portugal.

Following the team's return to Dakar, Koulibaly visited to his parents' hometown to commission a health facility project, as reported by 13Football.com.

In a video shared on social media, hundreds of Ngano residents were spotted riding on motorcycles as they cheered the footballer on, as he travelled through the area.

Meanwhile, Koulibaly's future at Chelsea remains uncertain as clubs from Saudi Arabia circle for his signature. According to reports, Al-Hilal and the Premier League side have agreed to a deal for the services of the experienced defender.

He joined the Stamford Bridge outfit in the summer of 2022 from Italian outfit, Napoli, but injuries affected his first season in the English top flight.

Koulibaly to remain with Chelsea?

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Koulibaly wanting to stay with Chelsea 'for many years', adding that he would soon return to his previous form.

The Blues lured him to Stamford Bridge last summer, but he has struggled so far to justify the hefty amount paid to Napoli for his services.

Many fans have expressed anger over Koulibaly's current form for Chelsea, saying the club should sell him off before the new season.

Senegal beat Brazil in friendly

Meanwhile, Sadio Mane inspired Senegal to victory in an international friendly against Brazil at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Portugal on Tuesday.

As Sports Brief reported, the Bayern Munich forward scored twice as the Lions of Teranga recorded a deserved 4-2 victory over the mighty Selacao.

Brazil took an early lead through West Ham United midfielder, Lucas Paqueta, but Senegal responded before the break via a Habib Diallo strike.
