Former Manchester United striker Odion Ighalo has stated emphatically that he is ready to make a return to the Nigerian Professional Football League if the right things are been put in place.
Before moving to Europe in 2007, Ighalo played for the likes of Prime FC of Osogbo and Julius Berger in Lagos where he scored good goals.
The ex-Watford forward recently left the Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal and there have been talks among sports pundits in Nigeria about his next destination.
According to the report on Complete Sports, Ighalo made it clear that the Nigerian League is not new to him adding that he could make the move this summer.
Ighalo could return to NPFL
“I said if security is guaranteed, good coverage is assured and better officiating. Of course, [I will play].
“I have played in the league before, and it will be a great privilege for me to play again for another six months or one year before I end my career.
“But you do not want to be playing and be scared of your life or what is going to happen next. Then, it does not worth it. Because if I am going to play, I will not do it because I want to make money. I am not even going to take money from any team. I will just play because I want to fulfill something.”
