Defending champions Barcelona will commence their title defence with an away tie against Getafe.

On the other hand, Real Madrid will embark on their pursuit to reclaim the Spanish top flight from their fierce rivals with an away fixture against Athletic Bilbao, per ESPN.

El Clasico, other tasty fixtures

Barcelona is scheduled to host El Clasico rivals, Real Madrid, during the weekend of October 29, with the return match taking place at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on April 21, 2024, GOAL reports.

Meanwhile, the eagerly anticipated Spanish capital derbies between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are scheduled for August 24 at Wanda Metropolitano and February 4, 2024, at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Andalusian clubs, Real Betis and Sevilla, will cross swords on November 12 and April 28. Fans can also look forward to the Basque derbies between Real Sociedad and Athletic Club, which will take place on October 1 and January 13.

The final day of the season promises some enticing fixtures that could potentially lead to an exhilarating conclusion if the title race remains undecided.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Barcelona’s investment last summer seeing the club return to the summit of Spanish football during the 2022/23 season.

In Spain, no cash prize is awarded to the La Liga champion, but the reigning team in the top flight is rewarded with increased television revenue for their success.

Barcelona will earn approximately €91.6 million from TV rights for winning the league title, compared to the €85.07mil earned by the second-place team.
