- Villarreal's asking price is what is now causing issues for Milan chiefs
- They are now looking for alternatives since they can't meet up
Seria A giants AC Milan are reportedly looking out for alternatives for Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze after his club Villarreal insisted that they will only allow him to leave for the sum of €40m.
Chukwueze was impressive for Villarreal last season in all competitions helping the Yellow Submarine to finish fifth on the final League table.
Those in charge at AC Milan were impressed with his games and they however joined the race of clubs who want the services of the Super Eagles star.
According to the reports on Punch and Sempre Milan, Milan chiefs are not ready to meet Villarreal's asking price and they are now considering going for alternatives.
Who are the alternatives?
The reports added that Milan’s alternatives to Chukwueze include Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson, Watford’s Ismaila Sarr, and Rennes’ Jeremy Doku.
Nelson may be the hardest of the three to secure, with reports claiming that he’s already verbally agreed to a new contract with Arsenal. Sarr’s deal expires with Watford next year and could be snapped up for an accessible price, whilst Doku’s contract expires with Rennes in 2025.
