  • Victor Osimhen last season finished as the highest goal-scorer in the Serie A with 26 strikes
  • The Super Eagles star also helped Napoli to win the Scudetto 33 years after their last victory
  • Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze are currently in Nigeria and they played football with friends

Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen have been spotted on the streets of Nigeria, playing football with their friends, following the end of a successful season in Europe where they both did well for their respective clubs.

Chukwueze was in fine form as he helped Villarreal to finish fifth in the final standings in La Liga in Spain, and has since emerged as a target for clubs in Serie A and in the Premier League.

After featuring for the Super Eagles in their African Cup of Nations qualifying tie against Sierra Leone in Liberia, the winger returned to Abia State to see his people and take a break.

According to a series of posts seen on Twitter, the 24-year-old played football with his friends at the Ugba Primary School in Umuahia, where fans gathered to watch him.

The Super Eagles star played for All Stars Champions, a local football team in the community.

Chukwueze is expected to remain in his town for a week before travelling back to Spain for the new season. AC Milan are frontrunners for his signature ahead of the transfer window.

Victor Osimhen trains in Lagos

Meanwhile, Osimhen has also been training in Lagos with friends. The former Lille striker is reportedly a transfer target for Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, and Chelsea.

There has been uncertainty about the future of Osimhen in Italy, although club chairman, Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted the Nigerian will remain with the Serie A champions.

Napoli gives update about Osimhen

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported on Napoli chief, De Laurentiis stating Osimhen will not be leaving Napoli this summer, amid rumours that he will depart the Italian champions.

The Nigerian striker recorded his name in the history books last season as the Serie A's highest goal-scorer, which helped his club win the Scudetto after more than three decades.

With the Premier League and Ligue 1 circling, De Laurentiis admitted that if an offer came in that he could not reasonably refuse, then Napoli would consider selling their star.
