As reported by the Daily Star, their bond has been severely strained due to Neymar's alleged infidelity, despite expecting their first child together later this year.

In light of the news, which could potentially jeopardise their future, the 31-year-old has assumed responsibility for his unfaithfulness and expressed public remorse.

Taking to Instagram, he posted (translated as follows):

"I made a mistake. I made a mistake with you. I dare say that I make mistakes every day, on and off the pitch. But I solve my mistakes in my personal life at home, in my intimacy with my family and my friends," he said, as quoted by the Daily Post.

Neymar further indicated that he felt compelled to offer a public apology due to the unwanted exposure his infidelity has brought to their relationship.

Addressing Biancardi directly, he wrote: "Bru, I have already apologized for my mistakes, for the useless exposure, but I feel obliged to reaffirm it publicly. If a private matter has gone public, the apology should be made public."

The Brazilian international also emphasised his inability to envision a life without her and his desire to work on preserving their relationship.

"I can’t imagine myself without you. I don’t know if it will work between us, but TODAY you can be sure that I want to try. Our purpose will prevail, our love for our baby will prevail, our love for each other will strengthen us."
