The former Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper is expected to play a key role at the tournament which will be a qualifying competition for next summer's Olympic Games in Paris.

Following his splendid performance against Zamalek, an emotional Amissah fulfilled a promise he made his grandfather by representing Ghana over the country of his birth.

"Since I was young boy it was my dream to have the black star on my chest and represent the country I love with all my heart. It’s a promise I made to my late grandfather. I’m so happy to see this promise become reality but so sad that you are not around to witness it! This one was for you, I know you watching," he wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, forward Emmanuel Yeboah netted a first hat-trick as Ghana rounded up preparations in Cairo ahead of their trip to Morocco for the AFCON U23 Cup of Nations, as reported by Ghanasoccernet.

The Black Meteors have been drawn in Group A alongside host Morocco, Guinea and Gabon.

The Africa U23 Cup of Nations begins on June 24, with the top three teams qualifying for Paris 2024.
