- Hugo Broos is pleased with the performance of Percy Tau against Morocco
- Tau proved to be a real attacking threat as Bafana Bafana beat The Atlas Lions 2-1
- Broos' previously claimed that Tau needed a six-month break from all football
Hugo Broos is finally happy with the performances he is seeing from Percy Tau.
The Al Ahly attacker was in fine form as Bafana Bafana beat Morocco in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Tau was at his attacking best as he was involved in Bafana's first goal against The Atlas Lions. The South Africans won the game 2-1 thanks to a Munir Mohamedi own goal from a Tau cross and a Zakhele Lepasa second-half goal.
After the game, Broos praised Tau for his performance, saying it was what he wanted to see from the player all along, Kick Off noted.
"I've always said, a good Percy Tau is very important for Bafana Bafana.
"But Percy was unable in the past to produce those performances because he was not ready."
Broos added that Tau was a very important player, proving that against Morocco, and he was very happy.
"I'm nearly two years here in the country, and today I saw nearly completely want to see from Percy, Broos added after the game.
Broos' previous comments about Tau
The Belgian coach hasn't always been a fan of the former Mamelodi Sundowns player's fitness levels.
In March last year, he advised Tau to take a six-month break from the sport to recover fully, News24 reported. He made the comments after the Al Ahly player withdrew from the Bafana squad at the time after picking up a knee injury.
"He's injured again. It's becoming a little problem with Percy," he said.
"I think, for Percy, it would be good if he trains for six months and doesn't play. His basic physical health is not good," he added.

Broos wants Tau to leave
Percy Tau must leave Al Ahly.
That is the blunt opinion of Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos as he desperately seeks to reincorporate him into the national team ahead of crucial 2023 Africa Cup of Nations fixtures.
Broos made the comments after Tau picked up another injury while at the Egyptian side, Sports Brief reported.
