South Africa on Saturday evening, June 17, produced incredible performance on the pitch as they defeated 2022 World Cup semi-finalists Morocco 2-1 in the African Cup of Nations qualifying encounter.

The hosts started the game impressively looking for an early goal, they got it in the 5th minute through an own goal scored by Munir Mohamedi.

The goal gave South African players more energy to attack their opponents, but they were unable to score another one in the first half of the tough battle.

When did South Africa net 2nd goal?

The Bafana Bafana players came out aggressive in the second half, and it took them only three minutes to score their second goal through Zakhele Lepasa.

Hakim Ziyech pulled one back for Morocco in the 60th minute and it was an excellent goal from the 30-year-old Chelsea winger.

The match eventually ended 2-1 in favour of South Africa.

Percy Tau, others dance to Rema’s song

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Bafana Bafana superstar Percy Tau and his Al Ahly teammates were spotted grooving to Rema’s hit track ‘Calm Down’, moments after they won the CAF Champions League.

Egyptian club Al Ahly came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Wydad Athletic Club in Casablanca, thereby clinching a record 11th CAF Champions League title.

The Red Devils had won the first leg 2-1 at home in Cairo last weekend, and all they needed was to avoid a defeat in the reverse fixture.

In the second leg, Yahia Attiyat Allah struck in the 27th minute to put the Moroccan side back on level terms, but Al Ahly grabbed the crucial equaliser in the 78th-minute courtesy of a fine header by Egyptian international Mohamed Abdelmoneim.
