  • Paul Pogba opened up about his injury nightmare for the first time as he revealed the ,reasons behind his struggles
  • The Frenchman’s return to Juventus did not turn out as planned, as he struggled with injuries in the 2022/23 campaign
  • According to the 30-year-old but , he ‘aged 10 years in a couple of months’ last season

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has opened up on a nightmarish second spell at the club after his injury-stricken 2022-23 season.

The 2018 World Cup winner left Manchester United last summer to rejoin Juventus, a side he represented between 2012 and 2016.

But multiple injuries made it impossible for Pogba to be a regular for Massimiliano Allegri’s side, and he ended up making just 10 appearances for The Old Lady across all competitions.

His injury woes left many believing it was the beginning of the end of Pogba’s career, but the Frenchman is determined to get back to his level best.

In an interview with French outlet Views, Pogba candidly spoke on his struggles, saying:

"It’s made me grow a lot. These last few months have made me grow a lot, they’ve made me understand a lot of things about life. I’ve aged ten years in the space of seven months [laughs]! And as I’ve said, that can only be good for me, because I’m looking at things positively."

Pogba’s injury timeline

At the start of last season, Pogba could not make the dream return to Juventus as he underwent a knee operation that rendered him unable to play until after the World Cup.

His second debut for Juventus did not come until February 2022 but did not last too long as muscle injuries came calling in March.

Pogba says his injuries this season have been the ‘biggest test of his life’.

"I'm a believer so I see these things as stages and tests. They're tests that have helped me grow, where I've matured and learnt a lot of things about life. I've learnt what the important things are.
"So I've been taking it positively and that's been a boost for me. Honestly, now, it's all behind me. It's really shaped me." Pogba also opened up about his Old Trafford exit, admitting that part of the reason why he left was because he did not get the same "love from the fans" that he got at Juventus."
