FootballWhy Kaizer Chiefs Are Yet to Announce Nasreddine Nabi As New Amakhosi Manager
- Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly in talks to sign Nasreddine Nabi as their new coach next season
- Nabi was in charge of Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC and led them to back-to-back trebles
- Arthur Zwane was in charge of Chiefs for the past season, but the Amakhosi failed to fire once again
Could Kaizer Chiefs be getting a new coach?
After a disappointing first season in charge of the Soweto giants, many fans wanted Arthur Zwane gone.
They could finally get their wish, as the side have been linked with a move for Nasreddine Nabi. The highly-rated Tunisian coach was previously in charge of Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC but has since left the team.
As noted by iDiskiTimes, Nabi won back-to-back trebles with the Tanzanian side and led them to the CAF Confederations Cup final, where USM Alger beat them on away goals.
Since leaving the side, he has already been linked with a move to the Amakhosi.
Since it was reported that Chiefs enquired about his services, new reports indicate that talks are progressing between the two parties.
As noted by IOL, there is only one stumbling block that is preventing both sides from making the appointment official.
The publication reported that Nabi wants to bring an assistant coach, a goalkeeper coach, and a strength and conditioning coach. The Amakhosi have reportedly only allowed him to bring two supporting staff members, and the two parties are negotiating about the third.
Nabi has also been on the radar of other African sides like Wydad Athletic Club, Raja Club Athletic, and Esperance, so Amakhosi supporters will hope their side will secure his signature soon.
Pitso linked with Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs fans have been given a little bit of hope, Sports Brief previously reported.
Following another disappointing season without a trophy, Amakhosi supporters have been clamouring for a change in the coach, and the club have even been linked with Pitso Mosimane.
The South African tactician is known for being a serial winner, and the Soweto giants’ supporters will be hoping that he can also work his magic for them.
