Inter Milan goalkeeper, Andre Onana is receiving all the plaudits following his return home to Cameroon after an outstanding season.

The 27-year-old paid a visit to the country's Minister of Defence Joseph Beti Assomo on Thursday.

The shot-stopper was warmly welcomed by the Minister, where the duo alongside other high ranking members of the ministry had a good conversation about his future with the Indomitable Lions.

Onana retired prematurely from the national team following a disagreement between him and head coach Rigobert Song.

In photos shared on social media, the former Ajax star was presented with a plaque for his performance in the just ended season, where he led Inter to the UEFA Champions League final.

The Coppa Italia winner then gifted the Minister an Inter Milan jersey, as reported by actucameroun.com.

Onana enjoyed a successful campaign in Italy as he helped the Nerazurris finish the season in third place as well as winning the Italian Cup.

However, Rodri's sensational strike in the final of the UEFA Champions League in Istanbul on June 10 denied the goalkeeper of the double.

Onana plays community football

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that four days after producing one of the best goalkeeping displays in a UEFA Champions League final, Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana is back home in Cameroon.

The former Indomitable Lions shot-stopper joined his community folks for some street football action as he enjoys his break in his native Yaoundé.

Onana's brilliant footwork could be attributed to his love for playing football with friends anytime he returns to Cameroon.

Hundreds of fans gathered in Obili, Yaoundé to watch Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana in the final of the UEFA Champions League.

Onana inspired Inter Milan to the final of Europe's elite competition after keeping eight clean sheets as the Italian giants returned to biggest stage for the first time in 13 years.

The Nerazurris face English side Manchester City for the ultimate on Saturday at the Akaturk Stadium in Turkey.
