  • Super Eagles will face Sierra Leone on Sunday, June 18, in AFCON qualifying encounter
  • Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze have been spotted having a nice time in training
  • These two players are expected to start for Nigeria in what is expected to be a tough game

Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has posted an awesome photo of himself and Samuel Chukwueze chilling at the Super Eagles training ahead of their AFCON qualifying match against Sierra Leone this coming Sunday.

The camp of the Super Eagles is currently bubbling in Lagos with virtually all the invited players already in camp as training started on Monday evening at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

Osimhen entered the Super Eagles camp with boosted morale after winning the Scudetto with Napoli and finishing the season as the highest goalscorer with 26 goals.

Chukwueze on the other hand was also impressive in the Spanish La Liga with the winger helping Villarreal to finish fifth on the League standings.

According to a photo Osimhen shared on Twitter, the two players can be seen having a nice time together on the pitch.

When are they leaving Lagos?

The Super Eagles squad is expected to leave Lagos on Saturday via a Chartered Flight for Liberia where they will tackle Sierra Leone.

A win in this tie for the three-time African champions means that they will be picking the ticket to feature at the next African Cup of Nations Championship.

Osimhen, Finidi get a guard of honour

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles players honoured Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen and Enyimba FC's Finidi George and Olorunleke Ojo on June 13, after the trio won league titles at their respective clubs in the 2022/23 season.

Osimhen was the star of the season in the Italian top flight A, netting 26 goals for the Naples side and helping the club win the Scudetto after 33 years.

To crown it all, the former Lille strongman also ended last season as the Serie A's highest goal-scorer, becoming the first African to win the league's Golden Boot prize.

There has been speculation surrounding Osimhen's future at Napoli, with clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain all said to be interested in his services.
