Manchester City’s treble triumph appeared to have struck a chord in Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, if his recent comment while on international duty is anything to go by.

Rashford’s comment on City’s treble

Rashford was in relatively hot form for United last season and helped the club to a Carabao Cup victory to end their six-year trophy drought in Erik ten Hag’s first season.

As an academy graduate and true red, Rashy understood what it means for their rivals to match their achievements and sees it as a wake-up call for next season.

“It is not nice, but it is football. The best team that has consistently played the best football is going to win the most trophies. They have managed to win three this year and well done to them,” he said at a press conference, via Sun Sport.

“We just move on now. It is up to the rest of us to catch them up,” he added.

The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and has attracted interest from Paris Saint-Germain, but Sports Mole confirmed he will sign a bumper contract to stay at Old Trafford.
