Crystal Palace attacking midfielder, Eberechi Eze has stated emphatically that he has no regret over his decision to represent the England national team and not the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Amaju Pinnick, former Nigerian Football Federation president, tried his best to convince Eze to play for the Super Eagles.
Pinnick and his men even traveled to England where they had meetings with Eze and his representatives, but all their efforts were futile.
Eze was eligible for Nigeria
Eze was born in the United Kingdom to Nigerian parents and he had the chance to either play for the Super Eagles or the country of his birth.
According to reports on Complete Sports and Punch, the 24-year-old disclosed that his family members supported his decision to play for England and not Nigeria.
Eze on snubbing Nigeria
"It was more just speaking to the people around me, my family, my wife, getting good advice from the people around, trying to think what is the best decision for myself and my career.
"We think that this is the best one. It is a big opportunity for me, it is the highest level of football. I look at it with no regret at all.
"It is the highest level of football, you want to test yourself against that, you want to be in that and you can see from the quality of the team, where they are getting to, the confidence they are playing with, it is incredible. So, being part of that is big."
