Bafana Bafana superstar Percy Tau and his Al Ahly teammates were spotted grooving to Rema’s hit track ‘Calm Down’, moments after they won the CAF Champions League.
Egyptian club Al Ahly came from a goal down to draw 1-1 with Wydad Athletic Club in Casablanca, thereby clinching a record 11th CAF Champions League title.
The Red Devils had won the first leg 2-1 at home in Cairo last weekend, and all they needed was to avoid a defeat in the reverse fixture.
In the second leg, Yahia Attiyat Allah struck in the 27th minute to put the Moroccan side back on level terms, but Al Ahly grabbed the crucial equaliser in the 78th-minute courtesy of a fine header by Egyptian international Mohamed Abdelmoneim.
BBC reports that Nonetheless, Al Ahly's Percy Tau, Hussein El Shahat and Mahmoud Kahraba, who compose perhaps Africa's most talented frontline, struggled to threaten the Wydad goal.
Al Ahly claimed a 3-2 aggregate win to claim the title for the 11th time in their history.
After the match, players took their celebrations to the airport, where Percy Tau and teammates danced to ‘Calm Down’ (remix) ft Selena Gomez.
And the fans loved it after the clip was shared on Twitter. One said:
“Now he can come home help us win the Morocco game. He worked hard in this competition so now duty calls.”
Another added:
“Congratulations Percy. You deserve it and thank you for making SA proud.”
