  • Football fans are divided on who the better playmaker is between Kaka and Kevin De Bruyne
  • Kaka captivated football fans with his lightning-fast speed and unrivalled dribbling prowess
  • De Bruyne's passing precision and masterful ball control make him a standout among peers

The perpetual desire to compare footballers in the quest for greatness continues to rage, especially after Manchester City's victory over Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final.

At the heart of City's long-awaited European triumph and impressive treble this season was midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, whose exceptional playmaking skills proved pivotal, particularly in the latter part of the season.

His remarkable attributes and achievements have led many to proclaim him as one of the finest of his generation. Yet, his sustained excellence at the highest level over the years has compelled numerous individuals to believe that his status as the best midfielder extends beyond the current generation of players.

The 31-year-old has progressed from being compared to Bruno Fernandes to now being mentioned alongside the legendary Brazilian playmaker Ricardo Kaka.

This comparison has ignited a fervent debate among online football fans, with divided opinions on who reigns superior between De Bruyne and the former Ballon d'Or winner, Kaka, per SportBIBLE.

Who's better: Kaka or KDB?

@ImohUmoren attributed the Kaka vs De Bruyne comparison to recency bias:

"Kaka dropping masterclasses while leading praise and worship only to be compared to KDB, who almost passes out at major finals. Unreal recency bias."

@oluwachris21 suggested the comparison was complete disrespect to the 2007 Ballon d'Or winner:

"People comparing De Bruyne to Kaka must be high on some cheap medicine. This is a total disrespect to Ricardo Kaka, who was an insane baller in his time. Some of you obviously started watching football."

Another user, @sanmiIsAGiant, argued De Bruyne is the better of the two:

"Has to be Kevin De Bruyne. He's stayed at the top longer than Kaka."

@Slooties concurred with @sanmiIsAGiant's assessment:

"Very close call. Kaka's peak season when he won the Ballon d'Or was unbelievable. However, De Bruyne consistently operates at a fantastic level, and Kaka only shone brightly for a few years; things went downhill when he joined Real Madrid. Overall I edge it to De Bruyne."

@big_vine4pf claimed:

"Even De Bruyne would choose Kaka."

KDB out with heartbreaking injury

In rather devastating news, Man City playmaker, De Bruyne could miss next season in part following his injury during the UEFA Champions League final, Sports Brief reported.

The Belgian was part of the Citizens' starting eleven during the final of the top tier European tournament against Inter Milan, which was staged in Istanbul on June 10.

However, De Bruyne was unable to see out the match and had to be withdrawn after just 30 minutes of action, after reportedly aggravating a hamstring issue he was nursing.
