FootballEuropean Giants Ready To Splash €30M To Have Super Eagles Star Samuel Chukwueze
- Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze is reportedly wanted by Serie A side AC Milan
- He was superb for Villarreal last season and helped them finish fifth on the table
- The Super Eagles star has previously explained he is happy with the La Liga team
Following the exit of Brahim Diaz, AC Milan are reportedly ready to splash €30 million to sign Villarreal and Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze this summer.
Chukwueze's current deal at the Spanish side will run out in June next year and the management of his club is said to be waiting for a reasonable offer so they can cash out on the Super Eagles winger.
Before the end of the term, there were reports that Spanish giants, Real Madrid were also interested in signing the Nigerian and bringing him to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
According to the reports by the Sun and Punch, the top brass of AC Milan are keen admirers of Chukwueze and are preparing an offer to help lure the Nigerian to the Serie A.
Why AC Milan want Chukwueze
In the recently concluded 2022/23 season, Chukwueze scored 13 goals and added 11 assists in 50 games for Villarreal across all competitions, with his figures said to have impressed the Italian club.
Sports Brief spoke exclusively with Nigerian reporter, Kola Daniel, who is close to Chukwueze. He explained that he would love to see the 24-year-old move to another league entirely.
"Last week, when I spoke with him on the phone, we talked about the Premier League and he said he would one day love to play in England. AC Milan is not a bad side anyways, but I don't think Samuel would want such a move," Daniel stated.
It remains to be seen where Chukwueze will feature next season but it is expected he would make a great addition no matter the league he opts for.
Chukwueze named best African player
Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Nigerian winger, Chukwueze winning a La Liga award for being the Spanish league's most valuable African player for the past season.
The Super Eagles star started the season as a peripheral figure at Villarreal, but the arrival of manager, Quique Setien saw a remarkable turnaround in his form.
