  • Manchester United fans took an interest in Onana for one specific aspect of his game in the UCL final

Manchester United fans were full of praise for Andre Onana after the Inter Milan goalkeeper’s masterclass in the Champions League final.

The Cameroonian international could not keep his side from losing 1-0 to eventual winners, Manchester City, but his solidity in front of goal did not go unnoticed.

The 27-year old pulled off two big saves to keep out Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, while his passing and ball distribution were very crisp throughout the game.

Man United fans want Onana

After his performance for the Nerrazzuri, Manchester United fans could not help but compare Onana to their very own keeper, David de Gea.

The Spaniard's last game of the season did not go to plan as his side lost 2-1 to City on June 3, boosting Guardiola’s treble dreams who are now fulfilled.

A clip of Onana’s composure on the ball when it is played back to him is now circulating and fans want the club to move for the Cameroonian.

@said14 added:

“The city players pressed him with full respect to him because they knew how untouchable the ball was once he possessed it. He’s just so sound.”

While Whizz99Nathan said:

“What I admire about him is his confidence on and off the ball. Commands his area very well and good with his ball distribution both long and short.”

Onana could leave Inter

Meanwhile, Sports Brief reported on the keeper's stance as far as Onana’s future with Inter Milan is concerned.

He expressed his desire to stay with the Italian club but admitted he would not fight if they decided to let him go.

Chelsea is among the clubs that are said to be the frontrunners to sign Onana, should he or Inter decide to part.
