Inter Milan cult hero Adriano missed the chance to cover the Champions League final in Istanbul because he was partying, according to stunning reports.

Adriano is a familiar name among Inter fans, as the Brazilian had some memorable moments as a Nerazzuri in the early 2000s.

Because of his legendary status at Inter, it only made sense that he was invited to be a pundit for the final where his former side came up against Manchester City on Saturday, June 10.

But according to Brazilian outlet Globo, Adriano, now 41, missed his flight to Istanbul which was scheduled for Friday.

The interesting report further claims “no one was able to locate Adriano”, but the retired striker was spotted a day earlier partying in Rio, Brazil.

Photos of Adriano in his latest partying element have since been shared on Condominio da MFifi’s Instagram account.

Who did Adriano fancy in the final?

Despite not making it on punditry duty, Adriano had earlier spoken ahead of the final, where he expressed faith that Inter could beat Manchester City.

"I believe Inter can beat anyone. We would go to Istanbul with our heads held high and without fear, even though the opponent will be very strong." He said as quoted on SportBible.

Several other past players were on punditry duty on Saturday, including former Manchester City ace Mario Balotelli and the club’s all-time goal-scorer Sergio Aguero, who was having the time of his life on live television.
