FootballMan City Completes Treble Triumph With Champions League Final Win Against Inter

- Rodrigo Hernandez's lone goal was enough to coast Pep Guardiola’s men to victory
- Guardiola has now won the UCL for the third time
Pep Guardiola's side were aiming to secure a treble after winning the Premier League and the FA Cup - the first side to do so since city rivals Manchester United.
Manchester City have won their first-ever Champions League and the Treble after a 1-0 win over Inter.
Midfielder Rodri Hernandez scored from 15 yards out in the 68th minute to secure a victory over Italian side Inter in Istanbul, capping an unforgettable season for Pep Guardiola's side.
They outpaced closest rivals Arsenal to comfortably win last season's Premier League and last week beat fierce rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup final.
It means City have become the first English Premier League club since Manchester United – 1999 to win a treble of all three major trophies in one season.
According to SkySports Manchester City owner Sheikh Mansour was also present to watch his team's victory on Saturday evening.
It was only the second game he has attended since his investment vehicle, the Abu Dhabi United Group, purchased City in 2008.
The club has risen to become the dominant force in the English game under Mansour's stewardship, having won seven Premier League titles in the past 12 years and five of the last six.
Man City’s rise to glory
Ever since Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Abu Dhabi United Group took ownership of the club in 2008, winning Europe’s premier cup competition had been the ultimate aim.
As reported by Bleacher reports, billions of dollars have been spent in the last 15 years, and controversy has surrounded the club, but now the Champions League is, finally, theirs after a 1-0 win over Inter Milan which will live long in the memory of the significance of the result, rather than the match itself.
