FootballIndecisive Balotelli Has One Wish for Champions League Final Between His Former Clubs
- Manchester City and Inter Milan are gearing up for the UEFA Champions League final in a few hours
- Mario Balotelli has played for both clubs and has refused to back any of them publicly
- His neutrality does not stop him from having a request from the two teams
Mario Balotelli has made a wish as his former clubs prepare to go head to head for the UEFA Champions League final at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium Istanbul in a few hours.
The eyes of the world are on Manchester City and Inter Milan as they are set to lock horns for Europe’s most prestigious club competition.
Inter have won the competition three times, but City are yet to. Pep Guardiola has won it thrice with Barcelona - once as a player and twice as a manager while Simone Inzaghi has yet to win it.
Wherever it falls, it carries a lot of significance for both teams and managers, most notably for the English side, who are on course for a historic treble if they win.
Balotelli makes UCL final request
Italian striker Balotelli has no alliance ahead of tonight’s final, or instead prefers not to say, but he does have a wish from both teams, which is simple.
“Everybody asks me this question. I am not supporting anyone. Whoever wins is OK,” Balotelli told BT Sport.
“I do have my answer inside, but I won’t say. I hope one of the two wins and does it quickly, not go to extra time, otherwise the traffic in Istanbul is crazy.”
The 32-year-old has seen his career take a downward spiral since leaving Etihad in 2013, having played for multiple clubs and is currently with FC Sion in Switzerland; he admitted regrets about not reaching the peak of his potential, as reported by Tribal Football.
Could Jose be on the move? Jose Mourinho unsure of Roma future amid Paris Saint-Germain links
FootballFootball Italia reports that he was part of Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning squad with Nerazzurri in 2010 and left immediately for England afterwards.
Adriano bets on Inter Milan
While Balotelli remains tight-lipped, a former Inter striker is confident in Milan's black and blue side.
Sports Brief also reported that former Brazilian striker Adriano bets on Inter Milan to beat the English club and lift their first Champions League trophy since 2010.
The 41-year-old splashed €2,000 on his former team and will heap a huge €15,000 if his prediction is correct.
