FootballArsenal Told Europa Conference League Winners West Ham Have Had Better Season than Them
- Former Scottish footballer Ally McCoist has sensationally claimed West Ham have had a better season than Arsenal
- Arsenal , despite dominating the league table for most of the 2022/23 season, fell short in the latter stages
- West Ham, meanwhile won the Europa Conference League after battling relegation all season
Arsenal have been brutally told they have enjoyed a less successful season than West Ham.
This is according to former Scottish footballer Ally McCoist, who believes the Hammers’ recent success in the Europa Conference League sums up a good season for David Moyes’ side.
West Ham beat Fiorentina 2-1 in the final of the third-tier European competition on Wednesday, June 7 to end their lengthy run without a major trophy.
It was Said Benrahma who put the Londoners ahead from the penalty spot, before Fiorentina equalized through Giacomo Bonaventura, as reported on BBC.
But as fate would have it, West Ham found a winner late in the game through Jarod Bowen in the final minute of normal time, to send the Hammers fans into a frenzy.
The piece of silverware is West Ham’s first in 43 years, and it was the perfect ending to a season in which the team has been in genuine danger of getting relegated.
After West Ham’s triumph, Scottish football legend McCoist, made a bold comparison of West Ham’s season to that of fellow Londoners Arsenal.
Arsenal finished second in the league to secure Champions League football for the first time in six years, but sections of fans feel the Gunners should have perhaps won the league after staying top of the table for more than 240 days of the campaign.
Here is what McCoist had to say, as quoted on TalkSport:
"West Ham have had a better season, think about it.”
Leicester City among 2 teams relegated to Championship on final day
Football"Just think about it. Arsenal had an excellent season. Got themselves back into the Champions League, a place where they have been regularly. Nobody is taking that away from them.
West Ham are now set to play in the Europa League following their triumph.
Diafra Sakho left his Lamborghini
Sports Brief also reported on the interesting tale of how Diafra Sakho reportedly left his Lamborghini at the West Ham parking lot after leaving the club.
Sakho spent four years at West Ham before making the switch to French side Rennes back in 2018, after slowly falling out of favour at the club.
It is unclear for how long the Lamborghini stayed at West Ham’s training ground, but it was not the first time Sakho showed complete disregard for costly supercars.
