Aurelio De Laurentiis who is the President of Napoli is reportedly ready to keep Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen at the club this summer and he is now planning to make the Super Eagles star the club's highest-paid in history.
In the just concluded Serie A season, Osimhen scored 26 goals for Napoli and ended as the League's highest goalscorer thereby becoming the first African ever to land the achievement.
Before the end of the term, clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with Osimhen and they could make their move this summer.
According to the reports in Soccernet and Tutto Napoli, De Laurentiis is aware that Osimhen is wanted by many clubs and he now wants the Nigerian striker to remain at the club.
Amount Napoli is offering Osimhen
Napoli president wants to offer Osimhen a staggering €7 million salary, a remarkable increase from his current earnings of €4.5 million.
This would position Osimhen as the highest-paid player in Napoli’s history, underlining his importance to the team.
Sports Brief spoke with Emeka Nonso who is a close friend of Osimhen, and he explained that the Super Eagles star would remain at Napoli.
