FootballCristiano Ronaldo Misses Out As Ighalo Named in Team of the Season in Saudi Pro League
- Super Eagles striker, Odion Ighalo made the Saudi Pro League team of the season
- Portugal international, Cristiano Ronaldo was snubbed from the list after scoring 14 goals
- Ighalo, on the other hand, netted 19 goals before leaving Al-Hilal
Nigerian international, Odion Ighalo has been named in the Saudi Pro League team of the season following his superb performances, while Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has been snubbed.
Despite scoring 14 goals in 16 games for Al-Nassr, the former Manchester United superstar was not considered among the best eleven.
After his explosive interview with Piers Morgan, Ronaldo's contract at Manchester United was terminated by the club's chiefs and he moved to Saudi club Al-Nassr.
The move was one of the biggest in the transfer football market as the five-time Ballon d'Or winner signed a deal worth £173m a year.
His goalscoring exploits saw him finish as the league's fifth top scorer. However, it was not enough for him to be named in the team of the season.
According to reports in Daily Post and Mirror, Ighalo, who netted 19 goals, was chosen ahead of Ronaldo.
Odion Ighalo leaves Saudi Arabia
Ighalo has already quit the Blue Waves following the expiration of his contract, and his next destination is currently not known.
The former Watford star is currently back in Nigeria where he is spending time with his family in Lagos State.
Ighalo and friends jump
Earlier, Sports Brief reported how Nigerian international, Odion Ighalo and some friends recreated the viral TikTok dance trend by vibing to Davido’s hit song, Unavailable.
The Afrobeats singer made an incredible comeback to the music scene in March when he released his latest album, titled Timeless.
Davido's newest offering features 17 tracks with guest appearances from Asake, Logos Olori, Skepta, Dexta Daps, Morravey, and more.
However, Unavailable has truly taken over the social media space, especially since an accompanying music video was released.
Ighalo was also seen with his friends taking up the TikTok challenge as they threw their hands in the air, recreating Davido's style from the music video.
