FootballHenderson Lands Himself in Trouble for Coy Answer on Salah vs Bukayo Saka Debate
- Jordan Henderson was put on the spot to name the better player between Bukayo Saka and Mo Salah
- The Liverpool skipper gave a coy answer to the question much to the chagrin of the club's supporters
- Saka enjoyed an incredible campaign with Arsenal this season where they just missed the EPL crown
A section of Liverpool fans has called on the club to sell Jordan Henderson, after the captain gave a coy answer on the raging Mohamed Salah versus Bukayo Saka debate.
Henderson did not have a very good season with the Reds this term, with the Jurgen Klopp-tutored side ending the campaign without a trophy.
The Merseysiders further failed to secure Champions League football next term, with their underwhelming season seeing them finish behind rivals, Manchester United and Newcastle United.
Sportbible reported that Henderson was among Liverpool stars who came under immense scrutiny during the season.
At one point, the Englishman was called out for his below-par performances, with his thoughts after the Reds were hammered by Manchester City also earning him plenty of criticism.
Henderson on Salah, Saka debate
The Liverpool skipper has further angered the club's fanbase over his response when he was asked who between Saka and Salah is the better player.
In a video doing rounds on social media, Henderson declined to choose between the two star wingers, insisting he 'could not go there'.
His response sparked outrage from Liverpool fans:
@Abdalla_Toffic observed:
"The disrespect for Hendo to think Saka is closer to Salah so he can’t pick between them."
@Nueladedoyinfi1 lamented:
"This is supposed to be our club's captain or another Hendo? Would Odegaard do this to Saka? Am embarrassed."
@classiq_godwin
"Is this supposed to be a difficult question? My captain can’t even pick between one of the best of all time vs a youngster that’s just getting started, I’m so embarrassed right now."
