Black Stars defender, Mohammed Salisu is enjoying the holidays with his girlfriend in Greece after the end of a long season in England.

The towering centre-back last played for the Saints in a game against Tottenham Hotspur in March, and has not featured since for both club and country.

However, in photos shared on social media, Salisu seems to have put behind him a torrid campaign as he enjoys his rest before the return of football in August.

Although his future at Saint Mary's Stadium remains in doubt, the former Real Valladolid player has assured fans that they will make a quick return to topflight football.

"We want to assure you that every player and member of our team is determined to come back stronger and better prepared for the next season," he wrote on Instagram.
"Despite the outcome, I am incredibly proud of our team and the effort that each and every player put in throughout the season. We know that there are many lessons to be learned and improvements to be made. We are grateful for each and every one of our fans."

Salisu has been ruled out of Ghana's AFCON qualifier against Madagascar due to his injury.

Salisu to miss Angola clash

The Black Stars of Ghana will be without four players when they travel to Luanda to play Angola in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
