The Black Stars will be without Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams for the penultimate Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar.

“Since a few weeks I've been playing with pain in my right knee. I decided to play until the end of the season, but after having spoken to the medical services, we've decided to stop and solve the problem to be 100% for the preseason,” Williams wrote on Twitter.
“This wasn't an easy decision to make because I won't be able to be with my national team, Ghana the next meeting. Want to say that I am fully committed and I will come back with the Black Stars if the coach deems it appropriate next calls. Thank you for your support.”

Black Stars coach Chris Hughton has quickly replaced the striker with German-born forward Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer, as reported by the FA's official website.

"Black Stars Head Coach Chris Hughton has drafted in Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer to replace Inaki Williams who has been ruled out of the upcoming AFCON qualifying match against Madagascar," stated the FA.
"The Athletic Bilbao forward who was named on Ghana’s squad for the qualifier has been ruled out with an injury to his right knee."

Ghana will travel to Antananarivo on June 18 with the aim of sealing qualification to the tournament in Ivory Coast next year.

Hughton names Ghana squad

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Talented young forward, Ernest Nuamah has been handed his maiden Black Stars call-up ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar in June.

Ghana's national coach, Chris Hughton included the winger in his 24-man squad for the penultimate qualifier in Antananarivo on June 18.

The Ghana U23 star has been in sensational form for FC Nordsjaelland in the Danish Superliga, earning him a place in the Black Stars team.
