Sports Brief looks at five players who could leave the Naturena-based side this transfer window.

Itumeleng Khune

The legendary keeper is in the final month of his contract with the side. Having joined the club in 2004, Khune is nearing 20 years at the Amakhosi.

He returned to the starting line-up this season but could only keep two clean sheets. As noted by The South African, Chiefs and Khune will make an announcement soon about his future at the club.

Khama Billiat

At 32 years old, Billiat is one of the ageing players who could be moved on in the summer.

He has played 126 games for the Amakhosi but hasn’t found the hits last season as many fans wanted. Goal reports that Billiat is wanted by Young Africans from Tanzania, and could leave the Soweto side on a free transfer.

Cole Alexander

At 33, Alexander is expected to move to pastures new this summer.

His 2022/23 season was hampered by injury, and he only made seven appearances in all competitions for the Amakhosi this season, Transfermarkt reported. Alexander joined the side in 2021 from Odisha FC in India.

Thabani Dube

With just one appearance in all competitions this season, the future doesn’t look too good for Dube.

He joined the side in 2021, but isn’t considered one of the first names on the team sheet. Dube is contracted to the club until June 2024, but The Citizen reports that he is frustrated with his lack of game time, and would jump at a move away.

Njabulo Ngcobo

Ngcobo was a big signing for the Amakhosi when they brought him in from Swallows.

Voted as the Defender of the Season, he was seen as the answer to the club’s problems, but things haven’t gone to plan. As noted by Far Post, Ngcobo has made only 29 appearances in all competitions in the two seasons he has been at the side.

He's also been involved in controversy while a Chiefs player.

Ngcobo throws a temper tantrum

Njabulo Ngcobo has added to Kaizer Chiefs’ woes, Sports Brief previously reported.

The fixture will be remembered for the player's behaviour after he was substituted.

Ngcobo ignored interim coach Arthur Zwane's hand before brushing off Lee Baxter.
