Sergio Ramos has penned a heartfelt message to former Real Madrid teammate, Karim Benzema, who is leaving Los Blancos after 14 trophy-laden years.
Benzema, who had earlier dismissed reports linking him away from the club, revealed his decision to quit Madrid for pastures anew on Sunday, much to the surprise of coach Carlo Ancelotti.
In his final game as a Madrid player, the ex-France international rescued a point for the White Angels as he scored from the spot against Athletic Bilbao, which was his 354th and last strike in the all-white jersey, talkSPORT reports.
At age 35, Benzema leaves the Spanish capital as the reigning Ballon d'Or holder, while boasting 25 titles during his association with Real.
He is expected to follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo by inking a lucrative deal in the Middle East, with Saudi champions Al-Ittihad in pole position to acquire his services, per the Guardian.
Ahead of his anticipated move, former teammate Ramos, who is departing Paris Saint-Germain after two years, wished him well.
“Karino, I wish you the best in your new stage. Much quality, Nueve. Hugs, brother,” Ramos wrote, as quoted by Daily Post.
Meanwhile, Ramos and Benzema could link up in Saudi Arabia, with a number of clubs from the oil-rich nation circling around the Spanish defender, who is in the twilight of his career.

In related news, Sports Brief reported that Karim Benzema has left Real Madrid after 14 years, the Spanish club confirmed on Sunday morning.
The 35-year-old joined Los Blancos from his hometown club Lyon in 2009, and made 657 appearances, scoring 353 goals.

Ramos heading to Saudi?
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Sergio Ramos might be heading to Saudi Arabia following the announcement of his departure from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
Ramos, who joined the Parisians in the summer of 2021, took to social media to announce his exit. He revealed that his final match for the French giants will be against Clermont Foot.
With the 2010 World Cup winner yet to make a decision on his next destination, transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano has suggested that a move to Saudi Arabia could be on the cards for Ramos.
