Nigerian football star, Victor Osimhen has become the first African to win the prestigious Serie A Golden Boot award.
Osimhen secured the coveted prize after an incredible 2022/23 season with Napoli, that saw him notch an eyewatering 26 goals in the Italian top flight.
According to Goal, the Napoli attacker saw off stiff competition from Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez to land the accolade.
His fine goal-scoring streak played a key part in helping the Naples side secure the Scudetto for the first time in more than three decades.

FootballOsimhen's latest goal came against Sampdoria in the final game of the season, with the Nigerian international finding the back of the net from the penalty spot in his side's 2-0 victory.
The Golden Boot was not the only individual award Osimhen won, having also been declared the Serie A's best striker of the season.
Meanwhile, Osimhen's stunning run of form with Napoli has seen him court interest from a number of top European clubs.
According to The Mirror, Manchester United are among the leading contenders for the signature of the Nigerian ace this summer.
The Red Devils are in dire need of a prolific striker following their struggles in front of the goal this season after the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
It is understood that Osimhen is highly regarded by United's transfer chiefs and tops the club’s striking shortlist.
However, the Red Devils will have to contend with competition from Paris Saint-Germain, who have also been linked with a move for the 24-year-old.

The Nigerian striker led Gli Azzurri to their first top flight league title in over three decades after netting 26 goals in the recently-ended season.
Osimhen also top-scored in Serie A at the conclusion of the campaign, becoming the first African to win the golden boot in the Italian league.
