Fans have been left in disbelief after two Manchester City stars missed out on the FA Cup medal despite their heroics.
City stunned rivals Manchester United 2-1 in the final of the tournament staged at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, June 3, to lift their second trophy of the season.
According to Sky Sports, Ilkay Gundogan's double was enough to seal a momentous win for City, who are now on course to win a historic treble.
Gundogan scored the fastest-ever FA Cup final goal during the tie, with the German midfielder needing just 12 seconds to break the deadlock.
While United went on to restore parity via Bruno Fernandes, the Portuguese star's goal from the penalty was not enough to stop City as Gundogan netted the winner with a crisp volley.
Man City stars miss out on medal
It has now emerged that two Man City stars missed out on the FA Cup winners' medal.
The Sun reports that both Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne were left without a medal, with the publication reporting the FA ran out.
While De Bruyne was later handed one by keeper Ederson, match hero Gundogan was left without one.
The Germany international was spotted celebrating the FA Cup triumph without one around his neck.
However, the likes of forgotten man Kalvin Phillips and youngsters Cole Palmer and Rico Lewis did get one.
