FootballDe Gea: Manchester United Brutally Told to Seek a New Goalkeeper After FA Cup Final Loss

- Manchester United legend Roy Keane echoed a large section of fans’ sentiments by claiming the club “needed a new Number 1”
- City beat United 2-1 to move to within touching distance of a treble
Manchester United should invest in a goalkeeper soon as David de Gea is not good enough, according to Red Devils legend Roy Keane.
Keane, known for his straight talk, delivered his brutal verdict after United lost 2-1 to Manchester City in the FA Cup final.
The thrilling clash at Wembley saw Ilkay Gundogan score two stunning goals for his side, including a fairly tame volley six minutes into the second half.
While there were no questions about the quality of Gundogan’s first strike 15 seconds into the game, the second goal left massive room for De Gea to be criticized once again.
The Spaniard was perhaps at fault for poor positioning as Gundogan’s strike from the edge of the box came in, and he could not reach the ball with his hands on time.
That goal proved to be the difference for City, and Roy Keane, who was on punditry duty, did not hold back in criticizing De Gea.
'United have got to get a new goalkeeper,' Keane said as quoted on The Mirror.
'They need a world class striker and a new goalkeeper.
'They need some other players and some strength in depth but they need a new goalkeeper and a world class striker. I'm sick of saying it.'
Interestingly, former Arsenal striker Ian Wright seemed to agree with Keane, adding:
'They need to at least get a goalkeeper. We’ve seen some big mistakes from him this season and they need to at least get a goalkeeper that’s going to push him.’

Lindelof hit by object during celebrations
Sports Brief also reported on how Victor Lindelof was struck by an object as Manchester United players were celebrating their equalizer against City.
According to a video shared on Twitter by @TheFergusonWay, the Swede was picked out among his teammates and the object hit straight below his left eye, he bent down immediately but it was nothing serious and he continued the game.
He was substituted in the 83rd minute of the game and replaced by academy graduate Scott McTominay, in what appears to be a tactical substitution more than a precaution or injury.
