Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane’s tweet about Ilkay Gundogan after the midfielder’s brace against Manchester United on Saturday has gone viral for hilarious reasons.
Gundogan was the hero of the day for Pep Guardiola’s side as he scored twice against the Red Devils to give City a 2-1 win in the FA Cup final.
His first goal was a stunner as he smashed home the ball after just 13 seconds, making it the fastest goal in the competition’s history.
Manchester United were then back in the game, amid controversial circumstances, after a penalty was given from Jack Grealish’s hand came in contact with the ball.
Bruno Fernandes slotted home the resulting penalty as the two Manchester sides went into the break level.
In the second half, Gundogan, as he has done so many times for Pep Guardiola’s side, came up with a significant contribution as he volleyed home Kevin de Bruyne’s free kick, six minutes after the break, as reported on BBC.
His goal ultimately proved to be the winner for City, and it earned the midfielder plaudits all over the world, including from his former teammate Sane.
Sane, who was clearly following proceedings of his former team, tweeted a hilarious photoshopped image of Gundogan after the match, likening the midfielder to the great Ronaldo Nazario.
Ronaldo ‘R9’ is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the history of the game, because of his prolific nature in front of goal in his heyday.

Sane is great friends with Gundogan, as the two enjoyed a successful stint at Manchester City before the winger joined Bayern Munich in 2020, as per Bundesliga.com.
Meanwhile, City won their seventh FA Cup title as they kept their hopes of a treble alive.
Their next assignment is a crunch clash against Inter Milan on june 10 in the Champions League final.
