Jose Mourinho may have landed himself in trouble with his parking lot ambush and uttering explicit words to referee Anthony Taylor.
Mourinho’s European final streak ended last night as Sevilla beat his Roma side 4-1 on penalties after a pulsating 1-1 draw during the regulation and extra time.
The Special One was not pleased with the officiating and made his feelings clear multiple times on the touchline, one of which earned him a booking during the game.
According to ESPN, Jose was caught on camera charging at Taylor and screaming swear words at him before he was guided away into the Roma team bus.
Mourinho risks lengthy ban
The video has gone viral online, with many fans understanding the former Chelsea boss’s frustration and agreeing that the officiating was an utter disgrace.
SportBible reports that UEFA referee's chief, Roberto Rosetti, challenged Mourinho, and is not having any of it thus accusing him of being complicit in the poor officiating against his team.
His touchline antics in the game were going to earn him a suspension, coupled with the insult of an official. Accusing an official of complicity in a stitch-up is another thing.
He also claimed the referee, who was no stranger to him from England, “seemed Spanish”. All these offences together could earn him as much as six game ban.
Mourinho’s Roma future in doubt
Sports Brief reported that Jose Mourinho’s future at Roma remains uncertain after the Europa League defeat to Sevilla last night, and he cast further doubt on it.
