Karim Benzema is said to be weighing up all the options after being offered a massive €400 million deal to join Al-Ittihad this summer on a two-year deal.
The 35-year-old forward has spent 14 years at Real Madrid but could leave the 14-time Champions League winners when his current deal expires at the end of the season.
According to Sportskeeda, Benzema has now spoken to former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo before he decides whether to accept the offer from the Saudi Arabian club or not.
The Frenchman, who won four UEFA Champions League titles alongside CR7 at Real Madrid, is believed to have contacted the Al-Nassr captain to learn more about Saudi Arabia and the league.
Ronaldo became the first high-profile player to move to Saudi Arabia on a massive €200m-per-year contract after his Manchester United contract was terminated by mutual consent in November 2022.
Benzema drops Madrid exit hint
Meanwhile, Benzema has told Real Madrid that he wants to accept the mega-contract offer from the Saudi Arabian side and leave this summer, according to Goal.
The publication stated the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner informed the Los Blancos’ board he would not commit to a new contract after his current one expires at the end of the season.
Benzema advised to leave Madrid
Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Benzema has been advise to swap Europe for the Middle East, as reports linking him to Saudi club, Al-Ittihad continue to swirl.
His contract with Real Madrid is set to expire this summer, and despite claims of a renewal being agreed upon, there has been no formal announcement at this stage.
Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez has since called on the Frenchman to discuss his future at the club, amid growing reports of the huge Saudi Arabian offer.
