The Black Stars of Ghana will engage the United States of America in an international friendly on October 17, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee.
The four-time African champions will use the match as a preparatory game for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars have played the United States at several international competitions, including three World Cup meetings.
The last time the two teams were involved in a friendly, the Black Stars suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Yankees.
The US National Men's Soccer team confirmed the friendly on their official website as part of preparations towards the hosting of the World Cup in 2026.
"We have always been looking for these kinds of opportunities to continue our team building exercise so playing against the United States of America has come in handy," said President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, as quoted by ghanafa.org.
Okraku added the game would present the Black Stars with an excellent platform to test its current squad strength against one of the top football teams in the world.
"We have two more matches to end the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and would need matches of this nature to prepare for future assignments i.e. the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast."
Meanwhile, the Black Stars will face Madagascar next month in the penultimate round of games in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Ghana need a point to secure qualification to the tournament in Ivory Coast.
