- Cameroonian winger, Bryan Mbuemo has been a key player for Brentford this season
Brentford owner, Matthew Benham arrived on the final day of the English Premier League in the jersey of five-time African champions, Cameroon.
Benham was at the Gtech Community Stadium to watch Brentford play Manchester City, a game they won 1-0.
Ethan Pinnock scored with five minutes remaining to hand the Bees all three points in the season's final game as Brentford finished ninth.
In a photo shared on social media after the game, Benham is seen in the jersey of the Indomitable Lions with coach Thomas Frank as they celebrated the victory.
“That’s a nice fairytale (beating City twice),” said the manager at the end of the game. “I think it’s a very good narrative for us, of course. The big win was at the Etihad - a very big win. Today, they still put a very strong team out and three of the biggest talents in Europe," he added, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.
“A lot of other teams have faced that team and lost. We still managed to beat them (and it was) well deserved. It sums up a fantastic season for us. Where we’ve come from, the journey we are on… it’s fantastic. Hopefully, we come back even stronger next year."
The Brentford owner was presented with a Cameroon jersey by forward Bryan Mbuemo, who has been in fine form for the Bees this season.
The Cameroonian winger scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 38 games for Brentford.
